Polyethylene Pipe Lining Systems
69Tite Liner
The Tite Liner System was developed in 1985 by United Pipeline Systems and has been used to line over 8,000 miles of pipelines on six continents since then. The system begins as a polyethylene pipe lining with a larger outside diameter than the inside diameter of the steel pipe it protects. The steel pipelines are then cut into sections that allow for the pipe lining system to be inserted. The maximum section length can be up to a mile depending on diameter, bends, terrain and street condition.
Safetyliner
For more than 20 years, United Pipeline Systems has been successfully using this Tite Liner HDPE pipe lining system to protect pipelines from internal corrosion and erosion in the oil and gas and mining industries. With advances in the HDPE liningtechnology, United Pipeline has been able to introduce Safetyliner, an innovative plastic pipe liner that offers an extra level of pipeline protection.
Safetyliner and Tite Liner are similar in many ways, but differs in that a series of small grooves exist on the outside of the liner. These grooves provide a path for any gases that may permeate the liner. The gases are then channeled along the grooves to monitoring vents positioned near the pipeline connections. This monitoring and venting process can be manually operated or fully automated to keep pressure below the desired level.
Market Segments
United Pipeline Systems offers solutions for internal pipeline corrosion and abrasion problems for a variety of applications. We serve the oil and gas, mining, municipal and industrial segments.
Oil & Gas Market
Since 1985, United Pipeline Systems has been portecting pipelines for the oil and gas industry. The Tite Liner system provides excellent chemical, corrosion and erosion resistance for numerous oil and gas pipeline applications.
The Tite Liner solution provides a corrosion barrier that often exceeds the design life of new pipelines. With the high value of produced oil and gas, it is critical that downtime is minimized. The Tite Liner® system can usually rehabilitate pipelines for a fraction of the cost and time associated with oil and gas pipeline replacement
United Pipeline Systems has completed many successful HDPE pipeline installations in the oil and gas industry including the following:
- crude oil and oil emulsion
- multi-phase crude production
- produced water
- water injection and disposal systems
- CO2 production and injection
- natural gas
- sour and wet gas
- acid gas
Industrial Market
United Pipeline Systems has been active in the Industrial pipeline market for more than 18 years. The Tite Liner system is a high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe lining solution that is well suited to provide protection against pipeline corrosion and abrasion to chemical pipelines.
The high density polyethylene material used in the Tite Liner system can provide protection to steel pipelines transporting chemical slurries, as well as brine, caustic lines and corrosive effluents. Tite Liner has installation capacity ranging from 2 to 52 inches.
Mining Market
United Pipeline Systems is experienced at installing our Tite Liner system in mining industry pipeline throughout the world. This system is well suited for protecting your pipeline investments that handle tailings, concentrate, acid lines and PLS.
Both the Tite Liner and SafetyLiner systems have the ability to be used in new or existing pipelines up to 52 inches in diameter. The maintenance benefits of the SafetyLiner and Tite Liner systems include abrasion and corrosion resistance. However, these systems may also satifsy containment requirements for pipelines through environmentally sensitive areas.
Municipal Market
United Pipeline Systems' Tite Liner system has been used for over 20 years to rehabilitate pressure pipes in the municipal industry. Our high density polyethylene (HDPE) Tite Liner system is typically used on force mains and transmission liners.
United Pipeline's HDPE pipe lining system spans holes and gaps in the leaking host pipe and this results in a continuous HDPE interactive lining system. Increased flow capacity is a result of a smooth surface combined with a thin, close-fitting HDPE lining.
